(Washington, D.C.) – In order to ensure the health and safety of the R3 community, the Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports has decided to postpone the in-person National R3 Symposium until 2022 and host another Virtual R3 Forum on May 5, 2021 in its place. Dates for the 2022 Symposium will be announced later in 2021 on the National R3 Symposium page on the Council’s website.

The 2020 Virtual R3 Forum occurred over two days and included 450 professionals representing over 150 organizations. This event offered a space for state and federal fish and wildlife agencies, outdoor recreation industries, and conservation non-profits to connect and discuss many of the opportunities and challenges for the R3 community. To ensure that this space is provided again this year, but also take into account the “Zoom fatigue” felt throughout the country, the Council is putting together one-day agenda for the 2021 Virtual R3 Forum. Council staff will be working with members of the R3 community to ensure the most relevant and pressing topics are included in this year’s agenda. The 2021 Virtual R3 Forum registration and agenda will be announced in March. Updates and recordings from the 2020 Forum may be found on the 2021 Virtual R3 Forum page on the Council’s website.

“We are looking forward to hosting the 2021 Virtual R3 Forum on May 5th and building upon the success of last year’s event. It is crucial that we continue to maintain the momentum of the National R3 Initiative and I am confident the agenda we are putting together will provide significant value to the community and enable us to continue to move the R3 needle together heading into 2022,” stated Dr. Steven Leath, Executive Director of the Council.
